World Blood Donors Day

World blood donor day is celebrated annually to mark the birthday anniversary of Karl Landsteiner on 14th June 1868. Landsteiner was awarded by the Nobel Prize for his discovery of ABO blood group system. The event was carried out for the first time in the year 2005 by a collaborative initiative of the World Health Organisation, the international federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood.

Survey was conducted at Rani Durgavati (Elgin) Hospital, Jabalpur. Dr Sanjay Mishra, Pathalogy Specialist gave his remarks on his experience of with the website. He added his experience of visiting the website and talked about how much this is helpful. He shared a story where a person was in sudden need of blood helped through the website. He appreciated the website and acknowledge our efforts in making the website.


Survey at Rani Durgavati (Elgin) Hospital Jabalpur

Blood collections in India are conducted by a lot of organizations and hospitals. All over the years the shortage of donated blood and the gap between the donors and the needy has been helped by the efforts of government. The number of voluntary blood donors increased from 54.4% in 2006-2007 to 83.1% in 2011-2021, with the number of blood amounts increasing from 4.4 million units in 2006-2007 to 9.3 million in 2012-2013. In 2020 year due to COVID-19 pandemic amount 12 million units of blood were donated, lower than expected.


Blood Collection Ratio

Blood donation campaign held in Gyan Ganga College of Technology along with the interview of Dr. Jitendra Jamdar. A blood donation camp was organised in the premises of GGCT on 12th February 2020. The program was organised by blood anytime team. Mr Himanshu Kolhatkar, ANO (Army Wing), and Mr. Nitesh Pandey, President (White Tiger Society) gave their services throughout the Blood donation Program.
